I'm Ant Hocking. Dad to a toddler and a dog, partner, mortgage payer, part-time gym goer, mediocre golfer, and owner of an ever-growing list of things I want to build and places I want to go.
I'm trying to stay healthy, be a good dad, do more of the things I love, and avoid adulthood becoming work, dinner, Netflix, bed, repeat.
I also happen to have type 1 diabetes.
T1Fit is the app I wanted alongside me for all of it.
My story
I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in my early twenties. Like a lot of people, I assumed an active life had just got a lot harder.
It didn't stop me. Since then I've learned to snowboard, kept training and got ridiculously mediocre at golf. I wanted to build a tool for Type 1s who refused to let the condition decide how big their life is.
Why T1Fit exists
Exercise makes glucose unpredictable. A run can send you low hours later. A heavy session in the gym can push you high. Carb counting is slow and easy to get wrong, especially when you are eating out or refuelling after training. And most type 1 diabetes apps are built for logging, not for training.
T1Fit puts glucose, insulin, carbs and exercise on one screen, so you can see how each session and each meal actually affects you. The goal is simple: take a photo of a meal, get a carb estimate and Suggested IOB context in seconds, and build a picture of your own patterns over time.
What T1Fit is, and what it isn't
T1Fit is a tracking tool, not a medical device. It helps you see your patterns. It does not replace your diabetes care team, and it will never tell you what dose to take. Every change to your treatment should be agreed with your care team.
